Group Bio
In April 2011, Larry DeTienne (formerly with The New Wine Quartet, The DeTienne Family Trio, The Huffman Family Band, and The Calvary Echoes) joined with Mark Hall (a graduate of the Worship College in Wichita, former music pastor in a Southern Baptist Church, and formerly with The Calvary Echoes) and their friend Richard Meier to develop a new gospel quartet.
In October 2011, we were fortunate to have Vernon Smith join us. Vernon is an excellent soloist that has been singing many years in a variety of venues throughout the state of Kansas. A short time later, we were blessed with a wonderful sound man, Pete Peters. Pete has had many years of experience with sound as well as singing in gospel groups prior to joining us. Most recently, we have added another member, Edwin Joyner Jr. Jr. is a great addition as his range from Bass to First Tenor allows us to do more kinds of songs.
Because people questioned us being a quartet because we have five members, we made the name change from "Four the Cross Quartet" to "Four The Cross Gospel Group". Our group has over 70 years combined of music ministry.
